Shop / membrane solutions water filter
Product Description
Operational Specifications:
Important Notes: 1. Freezing is not permitted. 2. Flush the new membrane for 30 minutes to remove protective material, ensuring the TDS of the pure water reaches the correct level. 3. If your water supply contains chlorine, it is advisable to use a Carbon/Sediment Pre-Filter, as chlorine can damage the membrane. If the hardness of your water is too high, consider installing a water softener before the reverse osmosis (RO) unit.
Why Choose Reverse Osmosis Filtration and Hidrotek Brand?
High-Efficiency Filtration:
The Hidrotek RO membrane is designed to reject impurities down to 0.0001 microns, offering high permeation rates and reliable salt rejection. This system effectively removes up to 98% of contaminants (with a minimum rejection of 96%), eliminating heavy metals such as fluoride, calcium, magnesium, lead, colloids, chromium, nitrates, and over 1000 other impurities. The membranes are NSF/ANSI Standard 58 certified.
Universal Standard Size:
The Hidrotek membranes are of industry-standard size, measuring 11.75" in overall length and 1.75" in diameter, ensuring compatibility with most standard 2" ID membrane housings.
Wastewater Ratio:
These NSF-certified thin-film composite RO membranes generate a wastewater ratio of 1:2, producing 2 gallons of wastewater for each gallon of purified water.
What are the dimensions of the RO membrane? The membrane's dimensions are standard: 11.75" in length and 1.75" in diameter, fitting all standard 2" ID membrane housings.
What is the expected lifespan? Typically, our recommendation is to replace the membrane every 24 months for most tap waters (200-500 ppm). Longevity can vary based on water quality and usage; in areas with excellent tap water (200 ppm or below), membranes can last up to 36 months. In hard water regions, replacements may occur every 6 to 12 months.
Can I use this if my TDS exceeds 1000 ppm or if I have very hard well water? Yes, the membrane can perform even with a TDS of up to 2000 ppm. However, more frequent replacements (every 12 months or as needed) will be necessary.
Is it suitable for brackish water or seawater? No, it is intended strictly for residential tap water. For brackish or seawater applications, alternative options are available — please reach out via email.
What items are included in the box? The package contains two 75 GPD RO membranes. Additional components such as membrane housing, wrenches, or flow restrictors must be purchased separately.
Important Notes on Performance:
The yield and purity of water can vary based on temperature, water pressure, and initial water quality. Lower output may be experienced in winter compared to summer.
Installation Instructions:
Following this guide will ensure optimal functionality of your Hidrotek RO system, allowing you to enjoy clean and safe drinking water.
